RETURN TO MISTY MOORINGS

Return to Misty Moorings (RTMM) is a freeware site made up of a volunteer team that creates fascinating and beautiful scenery locations in the "RTMM" area. That area is now defined by ORBX SAK, ORBX PFJ, ORBX PNW and Tongass X. This is bush flying at its best in the Alaska area. We started with the Misty Fjords area and that's how the original Misty Moorings for FS9 was named. Misty Moorings is now history with the advent of FSX. Return To Misty Moorings is designed for FSX and will not run in FS9. Because of major upgrades in libraries (See the Scenry Object Page at Return to Misty Moorings), we are now compatible with FSXDX10 and Prepar3D. This readme_first document gives you some background on the site, its team and how to best enjoy RTMM.

REQUIRED SCENERY

These scenery addon's by Return to Misty Moorings are for use with Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The scenery base packages Return to Misty Moorings scenery is designed to work with and fit in is the incredible ORBX FTX regional scenery areas called "PACIFIC NORTHWEST", "Pacific Fjords"and "Southern Alaska". In addition to these THREE regions, we also do work inside the FSAddon regional scenery package, "Tongass Fjords X". If you haven't got any of those FOUR regional scenery areas installed in FSX, then this file will probably not work for you. I repeat, this is not for default FSX terrain, this is for the above mentioned packages from ORBX/FTX and FSAddon.

You can go to the following websites, then purchase and download these highly recommended addons for FSX: ORBX FTX sceneries can be found here: http://fullterrain.com and Tongass Fjords X can be found here: http://silvercloud-store.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=29812

There may be updates to our sceneries at a later date. Stay tuned.

Also please know that we are not officially affiliated in any way with ORBX and this scenery is not supported or endorsed by ORBX. If you have any issues using this file, send your support inquiries to the email listed above and we'll try to help you sort them out.

PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS SCENERY ON THE ORBX or OZx FORUMS!! Contact the authors.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT OBJECTS NEEDED!!!!!

We use the default FSX/P3D library objects including some "FSX Acceleration" objects which you won't see unless you have that version of FSX installed or if you have P3D installed which includes the "FSX Acceleration" objects. In addition we use objects from FSAddon's Tongass Fjords X (with permission) and many, many freeware objects that we have consolidated and converted to make sure they work correctly with FSX, FSX DX10 and P3Dv2.X. Those freeware objects have been packaged together in the RTMM Required Object LibrariesFSXP3D Part I & II which are available in the Scenery section of the web site. You will need to make sure you have the libraries mentioned above to fully enyoy the RTMM Sceneries.

We place the objects using Flight 1 Instant Scenery to create our addon scenery areas. It is unlikely that you will need any other objects than have already been mentioned above.

NO ORBX OBJECTS ARE USED IN THE DESIGN PROCESS.

===============================
LIBRARY PLACEMENT

We left this file at the top of our addon scenery library listing in FSX and everything seemed in place and working correctly. However, you should read the ORBX FTX "Pacific Fjords" manual on page 7 to set up "Scenery Library Insertion Points" so all of your future add on scenery files, like this one, will always stay on top in the FSX Addon Scenery library and visible when you fly in this FTX region of North America.

From the (ORBX) manual: "FTX Scenery Library Insertion Points: This is a useful tool which allows you to control the 'insertion' point at which all the Orbx FTX entries are placed in your FSX Scenery Library. We've added this function because in some case other scenery addons need to be placed above FTX (for example, OZx or Tongass Fjords X) If you select FTX Scenery Library Insertion Points option, you'll be presented with another window like the one below which allows you to scroll through your FSX scenery library entries. You simply select the entry at which all FTX scenery library entries are inserted above, and click on the 'Set Insertion Point' button.

IMPORTANT: For our testing, we kept our files at the top and then all scenery areas showed as designed. If you keep these at the top of your addon scenery library you should now be able to fly to this location and enjoy the sights.

===============================
PLAN G MAP

In the zip file, we've included a small flightplan map image from Plan G that shows where this area is located at from a nearby airport. We don't recommend use of the autopilot for any plans that take you "Low, Slow and Dangerous" Exercise your best judgment on usage of the autopilot. Plan G is a fantastic free flight planning tool every sim pilot should check out. See the link below for more information.
